Hey 👋 - I'm Matt and I moved from Orlando to Cary in 2019. Before moving here, I played in a regular low-stakes home poker tournament that I really enjoyed. I couldn't find a similar home game around here, so I started hosting one.

FAQs

What type of game?

Our schedule each month usually goes like this:

• First Wednesday: $0.50/$1.00 dealer's choice cash game
• Second Wednesday: $60 buy-in + $30 rebuy tournament of some kind, like PLO, short-deck, bomb pot tourny, etc. Afterwards, an optional $0.50/$1.00 dealer's choice cash game.
• Third Wednesday: Smaller stakes: $20 rebuy no limit tournament. Afterwards, an optional $0.25/$0.50 dealer's choice cash game.
• Last Wednesday: $80 buy-in + $40 rebuy deep stack rebuy no-limit tournament. No cash game afterwards because this the tournament usually ends late.

When is it?

Weekly on Wednesdays at 7:30pm.

Tournaments typically take about 4 hours if you make it to the end. The cash game usually goes to around midnight.

Is there any rake?

No.

Where is it?

Cary Park in West Cary.

Who can play?

It's open to anyone 21+: beginners and experts, men and women.

What’s the payout for the tournament?

The total buy-ins will be split at the end among the top 3-4 players depending on how many people play and how many rebuys there are.

Can I bring food or alcohol?

Yep.

Can I smoke?

No smoking inside.

Can I play occasionally?

Yeah, it's no problem to only play every now and then.

How many players?

We've been averaging 10-15 players each week.

Can I share this with friends?

Yeah, please share it with anyone you think would be a good fit for the group.

Do I need to bring anything else?

Cash for the tournament (though Venmo or Zelle is fine too) and any food or drinks you want during the game.
